Before all my vacations dwindled away, I resolved, for the avoidance of the guilt trips that were to ensue a lethargic and utterly unproductive summer break, to put my pen to the test by competing in a handful of writing contests, of which one - The International Short Story Contest for school children 2016 - announced the result.
